It is possible to overcome fears by using positive thinking techniques, developing new coping strategies, and using powerful relaxation skills which can help clients to conquer the problem and to feel more confident and in control of their lives. Short term goal setting in order to work towards overcoming the phobia completely are used, usually with positive results
